Resumption of Classes
Hartman’s ENGLISH 10 class took learning outside! They enjoyed the fresh air in our NDC outdoor classroom while diving into a short story and exploring key concepts like flashback, setting, and atmosphere. A perfect mix of nature and literature!
🧡 NDC staff and students wore orange shirts in honour of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day is a time to reflect on the history and lasting impact of residential schools, to honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors, their families, and communities. Wearing orange is a symbol of our shared commitment to remember, to listen, and to walk together in reconciliation. At NDC, we recognize that reconciliation is a journey — one that calls us to keep learning, to honour stories, and to build a future rooted in respect and understanding. 🧡 Every Child Matters. 🧡
Common Good: As a Catholic social teaching it calls us to give back to our community - we are called to love and serve. Thank you to the many students who were volunteering throughout the weekend around High River at the Balloon Festival, Volleyball tournament and the Car show. (sorry..I didn't get pictures of everyone)
So many things happening at NDC this week! Lots of clubs, music, sports and post secondary visits taking place throughout the week. Please also remember that Monday is Orange Shirt Day! For more details and information please see our Daily Announcements. GO WOLVES! 💙🐺
NDC spent the week honoring the legacy of Terry Fox. Students learned more about his story and the reason behind the Terry Fox Run, while also enjoying a fun spirit week full of themes and activities. We wrapped it all up with a day dedicated to running and walking in his honour with staff starting bright and early and students carrying on throughout the day. What a meaningful way to celebrate all that Terry stood for and to continue his mission of hope. ❤️🏃♂️ #TerryFoxRun #NDCProud #MarathonOfHope
🧡 On Monday at NDC we honor Orange Shirt Day — a day of remembrance, reflection, and commitment. Orange Shirt Day recognizes the survivors of residential schools, the children who never made it home, and the lasting impact these schools have had on Indigenous communities. The orange shirt represents the loss of identity, culture, and belonging experienced by so many, while reminding us of the importance of ensuring “Every Child Matters.” At NDC, we wear orange to stand in solidarity, to listen, to learn, and to continue the journey of reconciliation. 🧡
Our very own Mrs Dudgeon on her first flight of the Balloon Festival! Go Mrs Dudgeon go!!!!

Great way to earn community service hours!
✨ Math is a Journey, Not a Straight Line! ✨ To kick off the school year, our Grade 9 students reflected on their math learning journey by writing a Math Autobiography—a personal narrative that traces their experiences with math from Kindergarten to now. From moments of struggle to breakthroughs and confidence, students then transformed their stories into visual representations, graphing their “Math-O-Graphy” to show that learning isn’t always linear—it’s full of ups, downs, and growth along the way. This powerful activity encouraged self-awareness, resilience, and a growth mindset—reminding us all that every challenge is part of the learning process. 💪📚 What a fantastic way to start the year!
The opportunity below was sent by Total Basketball Okotoks for your consideration. This is not a school event.
